          Project Director, Haideh Moghissi, is a Professor of sociology, cross-appointed in the School of Social Sciences, in the Atkinson Faculty of Liberal and Professional Studies, York's School of Women's Studies and the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

          She is also a member of the executive committee of the Centre for Refugee Studies.

          Dr. Moghissi was a founder of the Iranian National Union of Women and member of its first executive and editorial boards, before leaving Iran in 1984.
